My Students Are Enjoying My Class!

I finally figured out how to get my students engaged in learning.  It's great!  In my 8th Grade Class we are making video games and so far all the kids like it.  Those kids that do not like language arts are completing all their assignments and doing them well.  This is a great feeling.  In my 7th grade class we are making adjective menus for our restaurants.  All I heard today was "This is Awesome".  I even had students ask if they could do more such as, interviews, resumes, and build their restaurants.  Today was a great teaching experience for me.  Makes me want to be more creative so they always enjoy my class. :)

Wow!

What a week!  It's a short week and I feel like it has been one of the longest weeks.  Tomorrow we have kids from 8:30-12:30 then PTC from 1-9, but we have NO school on Friday! YIPPEE!  Not only do we not have school but I am going to my university's football game.  So excited for that! GO VANDALS!

It may be a short week and I'm tired but my classes have been going really well.  We just finished novels in both of my 7th and 8th grade classes and they have been handing in all their assignments.  Their assignments for the books were: plot summary, vocab words, and discussion questions for each chapter, a activity for each day, final assessment, and a plot map.  The ones I have received look awesome.

Also, our district tech guy put me on MyBigCampus so now I need to fiddle with that and start my 8th grade class on that next week.

Middle School Teaching

This is my second year teaching middle school language arts and health.  It is a really fun experience and couldn't imagine a different job.  I started this blog to talk to other teachers about what they do during the school year.  Enjoy!!
